This four-panel folding screen is carved from solid hardwood, dating from the 20th or possibly early 21st century.
Each panel is shaped with a scalloped, arched top edge and tapered feet, joined by simple metal hinges.
One face is carved in relief with figurative scenes: figures carrying woven baskets on their backs move through dense foliage of palm leaves and fruit, executed with clear depth and movement in the carving.
The reverse face carries a repeated floral motif, with stylised leaves surrounding a central rosette in each panel, along with a single leaf motif at the top of each panel.
The surface has a warm reddish-brown tone with visible tool marks from the hand-carving.
A decorative and solidly built example of traditional carved folk furniture, well suited as a room divider or decorative screen.
