A pair of Danish oak chest of drawers in the Rococo revival manner, 1960s — in the style associated with Henning Kjærnulf and the Danish craft tradition of the period. Three drawers to each chest with serpentine-shaped drawer fronts, the oak grain prominently figured with a swirling, almost flame-like character. Original cast brass hardware throughout: rococo-style drop handles and decorative escutcheons with working key locks to all three drawers on each chest. The apron below the drawers is shaped with a gentle scalloped profile. Turned and carved legs with a distinctly baroque quality, connected by a flat H-shaped stretcher at the base. Dovetail construction visible to the drawer sides — well made throughout. Versatile scale; works equally well as bedside tables, nightstands, or occasional chests in a living or dining room context.
