An iconic Safari two-seat sofa designed by Arne Norell and produced by Norell Möbel AB, Sweden, circa 1970s.
This celebrated Scandinavian design combines a stained beechwood frame with thick saddle leather supports and generous loose leather cushions, creating the relaxed yet architectural expression that defines Norell’s Safari series. The construction is entirely exposed, with the frame held together through leather straps, brass buckles, and wooden dowels — a masterful balance of craftsmanship, comfort, and structural honesty.
The warm cognac leather has developed a beautiful natural patina over time, complementing the rich reddish-brown wood frame and highlighting the organic character of the piece. Viewed from every angle, the sofa presents a highly sculptural silhouette with strong influences from traditional campaign and safari furniture.
An exceptionally comfortable and highly collectible Scandinavian Modern sofa that works equally well in refined contemporary interiors, rustic spaces, or classic mid-century environments.
